Case separated

With the engine case separated I can get on with the main and bigend bearings. Being a total newbie at this i read the manual carefully to identify the bearing sizes. Most of the information needed is written on the crankshaft weights and conrods. All except one were not completely worn away. The bearing sizes are as follows:

Main bearings:
Case ID: B B B B B
Journal ID:A B ? B B

Acording to the tabel in the manual the bearing thickness is - 'Green' 'Brown' '?' 'Brown' 'Brown'

To work out the missing bearing I will need to measure the actual thickness, which i haven't worked out how to do yet, without spending cash on a measuring device (micrometer maybe). All the main bearings are marked with a dab of paint on the sides, but only the green one is still visible. The others have what looks like a brown dab, but i cant be sure.

Conrods are easy they all have number '2' and the crankpin ID is all '1' which makes all bigendbearings 'Green'

Will return with more data and info later.

The engine block

Finally got found the time and the will to get on with my engine. The winters in Denmark are good for stuff like that, taking your time and enjoying it meanwhile. Since this rebuild is going to take a lot more time than expected and cost more than I can afford in one go, the plan is to bye a replacement engine and do the rebuild slowly. Might sound silly to others than danish people, but because of heave taxing on motorvehicles its actually cheaper to buy a complete bike without the tax, and just move over the engine.

Parts boxed and labeled

A picture of the outer gear assembly (nice to have when putting it back together :-)

The sump is removed and most of the bolts released, except one 14mm thats just much for me to handle alone. But soon the block will be separated and the repairs can begin. For this job i'm using proffesional help. At least two support bolts for the cylinder and head needs rethreading, and later the cylinder will need a rebore. Meanwhile i'll look at the carbs and head.
